Description
Jose Cuervo Black, also sold as Black Medallion, is an añejo tequila from in Jalisco, Mexico. It is aged for around 12 months in charred American oak barrels, which give it a deeper oak flavor than the brand’s silver tequila. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
Expect oak up front, with a mellow caramel sweetness and a toasty edge. It feels smooth and easy on the palate, and it stays gentle through the finish.
Cuervo suggests serving it on the rocks or with cola, and it also works in a highball with lime. A friendly step into for fans of gold or silver tequila who want something darker.
