Description
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami is a limited-edition Blended Scotch Whisky built around umami, one of the hardest taste profiles to define. Master Blender Emma Walker and Chef Kei Kobayashi combined their expertise to create it, drawing on hand-picked casks from inland and coastal distilleries chosen at the height of their maturation for their umami character. Only one in 25,000 casks carries that character.
The blend is balanced between sweet and savory, with notes of blood oranges and red berries, a touch of smoked meat, and warming salt and pepper leading into a long, sweet fruit finish. The whisky was awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2023.
One 750 ml bottle at 43% ABV (86 proof). Best served ice cold with caviar to open up the full depth of the blend.
