Description

Dolcetto 2023 is a natural wine crafted by , in the Savoie region in . This wine is made with grapes.

It’s part of I Vicini (“the neighbours”), the négoce project Jean-Yves started in 2017 to work with chemical-free growers on the Italian side of the Alps. The Dolcetto comes from Giorgio Barbero in Asti, Piedmont, and is brought back over the mountains to be made in Jean-Yves’ cellar in Savoie.

He treats it exactly like his own Savoie wines: whole bunches, no de-stemming, native yeasts and no added sulphites. This vintage was aged in amphora, which adds an earthy, grounded side to the wine. It sits at 13.5% alcohol.

This is a lovely Dolcetto with some integrated V.A that works if fine with a lift. It features notes of fresh blackberries, cherrz and chocolate wirth warm spice and an earthy edge and hints of liquorice. There is some rich tannins that have some grip without getting in the way of drinking it. One for anyone who loves Piedmontese reds and wants to see what a Savoie natural winemaker does with them.

Drink in one sitting, as with all Jean-Yves Peron wines.
