Production details of Lumière de Silex: Lumière de Silex is Jean-Pierre Robinot’s Chenin Blanc from old vines planted on schist soils in the Anjou region of the Loire. The name “Silex” refers to the flinty minerality these soils impart. Robinot sources the fruit from neighbouring vignerons and vinifies it in his limestone caves at Chahaignes. The wine rests on its lees in old oak barrels for around two years before bottling. No added sulphur.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Lumière de Silex by Jean Pierre Robinot, but we hear it has notes of pithy citrus, baked apple, flint minerality and warm spice.
