Jean Pierre Robinot – Juliette 2010

Jean-Pierre Robinot farms a handful of old vineyards in the Loire Valley, on a mosaic of clay, limestone, flint and tuffeau. Description

Jean-Pierre Robinot farms a handful of old vineyards in the Loire Valley, on a mosaic of clay, limestone, flint and tuffeau. This quiet corner of the Loire is cooler and wilder than its more famous neighbours, producing wines of tension, energy and unmistakable mineral character.

Beneath the vines lies a network of ancient limestone caves where Robinot ages his wines slowly and patiently. Fermentations can stretch on for months, sometimes years, guided only by the rhythm of the cellar.

Juliette 2010 is made with grapes.

This is a special Chenin Blanc taken from the Domaine of Jean-Pierre Robinot. It’s a rare wine, coming from vines that are more than 100 years old.

A rare old-vine Chenin aged for years in Robinot’s underground caves. Wax, dried citrus, honey, walnut and flint weave together around a deep mineral core. Oxidative in the most beautiful sense. It is complex, saline and endlessly evolving in the glass.
