Description
Jean-Pierre Robinot farms a handful of old vineyards in the Loire Valley, on a mosaic of clay, limestone, flint and tuffeau. This quiet corner of the Loire is cooler and wilder than its more famous neighbours, producing wines of tension, energy and unmistakable mineral character.
Beneath the vines lies a network of ancient limestone caves where Robinot ages his wines slowly and patiently. Fermentations can stretch on for months, sometimes years, guided only by the rhythm of the cellar.
Jeane y Erre Lumière de Silex 2006 by is made in Loire with grapes.
This is a special Chenin Blanc taken from the Domaine of Jean-Pierre Robinot. It’s a rare wine, coming from 40-50 year old vines.
We hear that it has notes of dried citrus, beeswax, honey and toasted nuts. As well as this it has notes of crushed stone that complements the vibrant acidity and keeps everything lifted.
