Description
Each lot of Ilegal Mezcal A\u00f1ejo rests for 13 months, aged to taste in a mix of new and used American oak barrels with a medium char. The barrels come from Kelvin Cooperage, a family-run business since 1963.
The result is rounded, full and rich without losing its wild edge. Aromas of maple, clove and bitter orange lead into dark chocolate and sweet agave on the palate, with smoke, earth and roasted agave carrying through to citrus zest, minerality and a touch of pepper on the finish. 750 ml at 40% ABV.
