Description
Commander’s Select VI comes from the Horse Soldier Legendary Men series, a bourbon given long maturation before it moves into casks that once held Pineau des Charentes, the French aperitif. That secondary rest works its way into a whiskey already shaped by decades in wood, lending soft fruit tones and a rounded sweetness that sit alongside the older spirit rather than covering it.
The pour leads with grain and a rye-driven pop, then fills out with nutty character and caramelized toffee before a quiet fruit note closes things down. Bottled at 60% ABV in a 750 ml format, it carries hints of fresh grape and the maritime French influence of the finishing cask, making it a bourbon suited to slow, attentive tasting.
