Made in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Hirsch The Horizon is a small batch high rye straight bourbon built on a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% barley malt. It rests for 5 years and 3 months before being bottled at 46% ABV in a 750 ml format.
The aroma leads with familiar bourbon character: sweet cornbread and vanilla. Warm cinnamon and oak meet in the middle of the palate, and the finish carries a quiet sweetness that trails off gently. Every bottle carries a batch number printed on the tax strip, so you can trace the specifications of the release in your hands.
