Hillrock Estate Distillery’s Single Malt Whiskey (750ml) blends old traditions with fresh ideas in American whiskey. The distillery sits on a farm estate in New York’s Hudson Valley. Hillrock calls its approach “Field-to-Glass.” That means it handles every step itself, from growing the grain to filling the bottle. This hands-on care gives their real character in every sip.
What sets Hillrock apart is its close link to the land. The team grows its own barley on the estate. Then they floor malt it on site, an old method that is rare today. Floor malting means the damp barley is spread on a floor and turned by hand as it sprouts. This care helps the whiskey reflect the place where its grain was grown.
The spirit is distilled in small batches in copper pot stills. It then ages in American oak barrels. This is bottled right at the estate. Expect rich malt flavor up front. Notes of caramel, orange and warm baking spice follow. It ends with a smooth, warming finish.
