Description
This is the 2023 Heaven Hill Heritage Collection, a 20-year-old Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey. It is not a bourbon. The mash bill is 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye.
Just 110 barrels were filled in October 2002. They aged in used bourbon barrels on the third floor of Rickhouse 1K. It is bottled at 115 proof.
The nose shows toasted corn and oak spices. Aged oak and walnuts lead on the palate. Wood spice closes it out, with soft hints of corn sweetness.
Enjoy it neat, perhaps with a drop or two of water. Pair it with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or aged cheese.
It is a rare bottle for the serious collector.
