What happens when a wheated bourbon meets an uncommon species of oak? That question drives the 2025 Grain to Glass Specialty Barrel Series release from Heaven Hill, which takes the distillery’s grain-to-glass framework in a new direction through barrel experimentation.
This wheated bourbon spent seven years in barrels made from Missouri-grown Chinquapin oak, a wood chosen with Independent Stave Company. Butterscotch and sweet oak lead, giving way to layered depth and warming black pepper spice, with the soft wheated character carried by bold barrel influence. Bottled at 52.5% ABV in a 700 ml format.
