Description
George T. Stagg Jr. Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a barrel-proof bourbon from the award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky — bottled uncut and unfiltered to preserve the full character of the barrel. A younger, more accessible sibling to the legendary George T. Stagg from the Antique Collection, the Jr. release carries the same high-proof Buffalo Trace DNA without the allocation-only scarcity of its namesake.
On the palate, expect a dense, full-bodied profile: dark caramel, toasted oak, brown sugar, dried cherry, and a layer of baking spice that builds on the long finish. The uncut proof delivers genuine intensity — a bold sipper for drinkers who want maximum flavor per ounce, and a bourbon with enough backbone to cut through a stirred cocktail without losing identity. Add a single drop of water in the glass to open up the nose and watch fresh oak and caramel lift to the top.
Buffalo Trace’s barrel-proof releases are among the most sought-after American whiskies on the market, and George T. Stagg Jr. offers a rare chance to own a bottle from that program without chasing secondary-market prices on the full Stagg. If you already pour Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, or Weller, this is a natural step up the proof ladder. Pair with a Glencairn and patient sipping.
