Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack Double Mellowed Straight Tennessee Whiskey takes its name from the original gentleman distiller and founder. Each batch starts with a recipe of corn, barley, rye, malt and iron-free limestone spring water drawn from a cave that runs two miles deep.
Single-distilled and charcoal-mellowed twice rather than once, the whiskey matures in handmade, charred white oak barrels. The second mellowing is what gives Gentleman Jack its smoothness before bottling at 40% ABV in 50 mL bottles, offered here as a twelve-pack.
Light amber in the glass, with a clean, soft nose of sweet vanilla, fruit and light spice. The palate is flavor-forward and balanced by oak, with caramel and vanilla, closing on a warm, short and exceptionally smooth finish. It works neat, over ice, or in mixed drinks.
