Production details of Anselmo Rosso: Anselmo Rosso is made by Davide Bentivegna at Etnella, a small natural wine estate on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. The blend is mostly Nerello Mascalese with a little Catarratto, given just three days of maceration to keep the wine light and easy. Etnella works the volcanic soils across multiple plots at altitudes up to 780m, with sulphur kept below 30 mg/l on reds.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Anselmo Rosso by Etnella, but we hear it has notes of crunchy red cherry, dried herbs, volcanic earth and a fresh, light finish.
