Description
El Septimo XO Vintage 2004 Grande Champagne Cognac is a single-cask release from the Magnificent 7 collection, drawn from Cask No. 57 and selected from the cellars of Comandon Cognac, a house established in 1821. The cognac is finished in an ex-wine barrel from Château Desmirail, a Grand Cru Classé estate in Margaux classified in 1855 — El Septimo’s first cask finish of its kind. Sourced entirely from the Grande Champagne appellation and drawn from the 2004 vintage, each bottle is individually numbered.
The cognac pours a deep amber and opens with vibrant oak spice and candied fruit alongside honeysuckle on the nose. On the palate, warm pastry crème and sweet toasted grain give way to bold ginger spice and crisp vanilla, developed further by the Margaux wine-barrel finish. The finish carries dessert-wine richness into toasted macadamia, custard, and dark honey.
The single-cask sourcing, individually numbered bottling, and Grand Cru Classé wine-barrel finish make this a standout for cognac collectors and a distinctive gift. Pair it with other rare and small-batch selections from the cognac and whiskey shelves for a collector’s flight. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
