Description
Don Rich Reposado is a Mexican tequila made with traditional methods. It rests in oak barrels for at least six months before bottling. That time in wood gives it a rounder, warmer side than a blanco. Yet it still keeps the bright taste of cooked agave.
Pour a glass and let it sit for a moment. You should pick up roasted agave first, then vanilla and a little honey. As it opens, light oak and a faint hint of spice come through.
The first sip is smooth and fairly rich. Caramel and vanilla lead the way, joined by toasted oak. A touch of cinnamon sits in the background, and the agave adds natural sweetness. The texture feels soft and easy.
The finish lasts a good while. Caramel lingers, along with a little warm spice. The oak never takes over, so the agave stays in view right to the end.
Sip it neat, or pour it over one big cube. Mix it into a reposado Margarita, a Paloma or a tequila Old Fashioned. Try it with grilled chicken tacos, carnitas or roasted vegetables with a squeeze of lime.
