Description
Del Maguey Wild Tepextate is a rare single village mezcal made by Rogelio Martinez Cruz, the same palenquero behind Del Maguey’s Tobalá. The tepextate agave is a wild varietal that matures in the mountains of Oaxaca for 18 to 25 years before it is harvested and distilled.
The result is delicate and complex, with bright candied fruit on the nose and a floral character running through the palate. Look for:
- Banana taffy
- Passion fruit
- Marzipan
- Canela
- Hints of honeysuckle
Bottled at 750 ml and 45% ABV, 90 proof. Like all Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal, it is meant to be sipped rather than shot.
