Description
Del Maguey San Luis Del Rio Azul is a single village mezcal distilled from Blue Weber maguey grown in San Luis del Rio, with the agave aged more than seven years before distillation. Bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof) in a 750 ml bottle.
The profile is bright, peppery and floral. Smoke and earth frame roasted agave and citrus zest, with a hint of minerality and pepper carrying through. Look for bright citrus, dried banana chip, wet stone and a touch of white peppercorn across a medium-long finish.
Because it is built on Blue Weber maguey, Azul offers a rare look at how tequila may have tasted many years ago.
