Description
Behind BÉNÉDICTINE sits a blend of 27 herbs and spices, combined according to a secret recipe attributed to French Benedictine monks and said to trace back to 1510. It is produced at an ornate palace set in the Normandy countryside, and the result is a liqueur with a character all its own. Bottled at 750 ml and 40% ABV.
The nose leads with spice and citrus over a thread of honey. On the palate it is full and intense, with sweetness holding everything in balance, while the warming finish moves through mocha coffee, fudge and vanilla before a zesty turn of saffron and gingerbread.
