Description
Special bottling of pre-phylloxera vines’ produce that they didn’t want to be called Vinhas Velhas so they chose a name that recalled silk production at Roêda with mulberry trees (serikos is Greek for silk), and it’s supposed to have a silky texture. Very deep purple. Haunting, multi-layered nose. Very sweet palate entry but with great lift and (actually savoury) interest on the palate. Still young but a definite addition to the vintage port canon. (JR)
