Description
Bottled from a single bourbon barrel, Cask No. 509 from Courage & Conviction arrives at cask strength 61.5% ABV in a 750ml format. American malted barley and time in bourbon oak shape a whisky with concentrated character rather than the smoothed-out profile of a blended batch.
The bourbon cask leaves its mark throughout: caramel and vanilla sit alongside malt sweetness, with spice building toward a rich finish. As a single-cask release, it reflects the particular barrel it came from, which is much of the appeal for drinkers who follow individual cask bottlings.
