Description
Bottled at 57.4% ABV in a 700ml format, Cotswolds Sherry Cask Single Malt shows what sherry wood does to English malt spirit. Time in sherry casks pulls the whisky toward dried fruit and fruit cake, with dark chocolate and spice sitting alongside oak tannins.
The high strength holds the cask-derived character in place rather than thinning it, so the sherry notes arrive with weight and the grain spirit keeps its footing against the wood. The result is layered, with sweetness, spice and tannic structure reading clearly together.
