Description
The Col d’Orcia 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento exhibits a dark appearance. You get eucalyptus, medicinal herb and cherry cola. There is dark fruit, but that herbal note is what appears with the greatest intensity at this time. Firm tannins serve to give more definition to the palate, and the wine shows depth and an angular structure. I also appreciate that salty mineral note on the close.
