Cognac Park Mizunara Japanese Oak Cask Finish Single Cru Borderies takes eaux-de-vie from the Borderies cru and gives them a second maturation in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, a wood rarely seen in cognac. The result is a 750 ml bottling that keeps the polish of a single-cru spirit while picking up a distinctly different set of wood tones.
The Borderies character shows in the floral lift and refined dried fruit, while the Mizunara finish contributes exotic sandalwood and a gentle thread of spice. Aromatically it is layered rather than heavy, with the cask influence working alongside the base spirit instead of covering it.
