Description
Côte de Brouilly 2024 is a natural wine crafted by Clos Bateau, in the Beaujolais region in . This red wine is made with 100% grapes, and sourced from a high up parcel on the Cote de Brouilly.
This 2024 vintage differs from the previous year, and has a slight reduction on the nose which could benefit from a carafe to express itself best. There are mineralic elements, with bursts of black cherries, vanilla and a hint of cacao with a slight rustic charm. We suggest to age this wine a little and carafe when opening to enjoy it at it’s best.
About Côte de Brouilly from Clos Bateau
Since we’ve made a Côte de Brouilly in 2020 we kept dreaming about a new opportunity for this cuvee. In 2024 the grapes were harvested at the lieu-dit Le Poyebade. The vineyard lays on the west side of the mountain Brouilly with the height of 370m, which is quite impressive. The lieu-dit Poyebade is in appellation of Cote de Brouilly. Because of the location the vineyard is only having sun during the afternoon, this is why there is such a great mix of ripeness and freshness at the same time. After a maceration of almost 2 weeks we pressed this cuvee and later on we aged the wine on used Burgundy barrels for 10 months.
