Description
Clermont Steep is the American Single Malt from James B. Beam Distilling Co., made entirely from malted barley and given five years in the barrel. The nose leads with toasted malt, caramel, and toffee, while the palate fills out with vanilla, whole-grain cereal notes, and a sweetness that stays in check. Bottled at 47% ABV in a 750 ml bottle.
The result is a whiskey built on restraint rather than volume: malt character sits front and center, and the finish is smooth and balanced. It drinks well neat or over ice, and has enough backbone to hold its shape in cocktails.
