Production details of Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Varambon: Clos Varambon is a Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay from Château des Rontets in Burgundy. The cuvée comes from all the vines within the Clos planted after 1945, totalling 4.5 hectares. Vinification in 30hL foudres and 400L and 228L barrels with no new oak. Aged on the lees for 12 to 18 months without bâtonnage. The estate has farmed without synthetic chemistry since 2005.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Varambon by Château Des Rontets, but we hear it has notes of yellow plum, mirabelle, light peach, mandarin and a stone-driven Sichuan pepper edge.
