Casa Dragones Reposado (750Ml)

Casa Dragones Reposado is a small-batch made from 100% Blue Weber agave. The agave grows in the volcanic soil of the Tequila Valley in Jalisco. What sets this reposado apart is the wood. Casa Dragones Reposado is a small-batch made from 100% Blue Weber agave. The agave grows in the volcanic soil of the Tequila Valley in Jalisco. What sets this reposado apart is the wood. It rests only in brand-new casks made from Mizunara, a rare Japanese oak.

Mizunara is best known for ageing Japanese whisky. The trees can take up to 200 years to grow, and the wood is hard to work. Casa Dragones teamed up with an independent cooperage in Japan to build these casks, each with a custom char. Like every reposado, it rests for less than a year.

In the glass it shows a light, bright gold color and a silky texture. The aroma is floral, with orange blossom and magnolia over gentle honey and sandalwood. On the palate, balanced oak meets butterscotch and apricot. The finish is long, with coffee bean and mellow spice.

The brand suggests serving it neat or over one small ice cube. Sip it slowly so the floral notes have time to open. It pairs nicely with grilled seafood, citrus dishes or light appetizers.

You will love it if you enjoy elegant, floral sipping tequila more than bold, smoky styles. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a whisky fan who is curious about agave.
