Croix generally seems to do very well with this wine and 2009 is no exception because despite the reduction that presently compromises the nose, the depth of material on the extremely rich, full-bodied and powerful flavors is simply outstanding. The phenolically ripe tannins are quite firm and while the appellation naturally produces robust wines, this is a big wine even by those standards.
