Description
A Cold-Weather Bourbon Built for the Bold
Calico House Distillery has long been a name synonymous with approachable craft and genuine character. Black Frost Bourbon is their most evocative expression yet — a nod to the biting chill of a deep winter night and the warming amber spirit that cuts right through it. Bottled at a robust 109 proof, Black Frost doesn’t ask for your attention; it commands it. This is a bourbon that rewards patience, whether you’re sipping it neat by the fire or letting it anchor a classic cocktail.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Rich caramel and dark brown sugar open the glass, followed by toasted oak, dried cherry, and a cool menthol-like freshness that lives up to the name.
- Palate: Bold and warming with layers of baking spice, vanilla bean, charred wood, and a hint of dark fruit. The higher proof brings a satisfying heat that builds gradually without overwhelming.
- Finish: Long and dry with lingering oak tannins, a touch of black pepper, and a clean, frosty fade that keeps you coming back for another pour.
