Description
Smoked mesquite meets bourbon in this 750 ml release from Cali Distillery, bottled at 45% ABV. The flavoring lends a woodsy, campfire edge that sits alongside bourbon vanilla, oak and a quiet thread of spice, so the whiskey reads as familiar and unusual at the same time.
At full strength the smoke stays measured rather than overpowering, letting the grain’s warmth carry through. KC Johns Thunder works poured on its own or built into cocktails, and suits drinkers who want their whiskey to take a turn off the traditional path.
