Description
This Kentucky straight bourbon spends seven years in the barrel before being bottled at barrel proof, 60.6% ABV. Its mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley gives the whiskey a balanced backbone, and the deep mahogany color in the glass hints at the concentration behind it. As a single-barrel release, each 750 ml bottle reflects the character of the cask it came from, so no two are identical.
The aroma leads with toasted caramel and butterscotch candy, with a thread of oak running underneath. On the palate, that sweetness carries into a rich, full-bodied pour that unfolds through the finish, a barrel-proof take on the Long Ball line from Bushwood Spirits.
