Description
Bulleit Bourbon Mesquite Smoked Malt is a one-time, experimental release from Bulleit. Part of the barley was smoked over mesquite wood during malting. That grain then went into the mash.
The recipe is 65% corn, 30% smoked malt and 5% malted barley. There is no rye, a first for Bulleit Bourbon. It aged at least six years in Kentucky.
Caramelized sugar and warm mesquite smoke greet you first. Vanilla and oak follow, with a soft layer of smoke. The finish is light but lingers, like a low barbecue pit.
Try it neat, on ice, or with smoked brisket.
