Description
(from vines planted in 1964 and aged in 20% new wood). This is both more aromatically elegant and slightly more complex as well with its admirably pure nose that combines hints of wood and pear with acacia blossom, citrus rind and hazelnut scents. The citrus rind character continues onto the lightly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that are supported by bright acidity on the clean, bone dry and impressively long finish that isn’t quite as complex today as the nose. This may ultimately be a better wine than the old vines cuvée but you can’t go wrong with either. 89/2020+
