Distilled on Islay from organically grown barley, Bruichladdich The Organic 2010 sets aside peat smoke entirely and bottles at 50% ABV. The 750 ml release leans on the grain itself, letting fruit and cereal character lead rather than the smoky profile usually associated with the island.
The palate moves through citrus and green apple into honeyed sweetness, with herbal notes and a thread of maritime salt underneath. The finish stays elegant, rounding out a whisky that reads as Islay through its coastal edge rather than its smoke.
