Description
Bruichladdich Octomore 09.2 is a five year old Islay single malt. Its Scottish Concerto barley was peated to 156 parts per million, so expect serious smoke.
It spent four years in ex-American whiskey casks, then a year in second-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. It is bottled at 58.2%, with no chill filtration or added color.
Earthy peat smoke, jammy dark fruit and vanilla lead the nose. The palate brings dark cherry, ripe plum, bitter coffee and a little pipe tobacco. The finish is long, dry and smoky.
Sip it neat, then add a few drops of water. This bottle comes without its canister.
