Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2012 is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distilled from barley grown on the island, bottled at 750 ml and 50% ABV. The 2012 vintage is built around the idea that where the grain is grown shapes what ends up in the glass.
The profile is peaty and maritime, with smoke and salinity framing notes of seaweed and a thread of subtle orchard fruit. Sweetness sits underneath rather than on top, leaving a complex, coastal character.
