Description
Branson VSOP is a Grande Champagne cognac from the Raymond Ragnaud family. They have worked this premier cru of Cognac since 1860. The brand is part of Sire Spirits, the company owned by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
The blend is aged at least four years, and most of it rests up to seven. That is well past the VSOP minimum. It pours a bright gold with bronze glints.
Raisins and dried fruit lead on the nose, with a light floral lift and a touch of tobacco. The palate brings sweet spice and soft vanilla, with a hint of clove. The finish is soft and gently spiced.
Pour it neat after dinner, or add a single ice cube. It also makes a smooth base for a like a Sidecar. Dark chocolate and caramel desserts are easy matches.
This is a good choice when you want more depth than a VS without paying XO prices. Keep it on your shelf for relaxed evenings with friends.
