Four years in barrel shape this rye from Bone Snapper, bottled at 55% ABV in a 750ml format. The time in wood shows up as clear oak depth, giving the whiskey a weight and complexity that comes with an age statement rather than youth. Spicy rye grain leads the palate, backed by charred oak and a thread of caramel sweetness. Peppery spice builds through the middle, and the high proof carries it into a warming finish that holds up when poured neat.
