Description
Based on 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, the 2009 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvee Du Quet is showing beautifully, with a powerful, rich, yet seamless style. Ripe black cherries, black licorice, roasted garrigue, meat, tapenade, and Provençal notes all emerge from the glass. It’s full-bodied, has a deep, layered mid-palate, sweet tannins, and a great finish. I’d say it’s drinking at point today, yet it has the density, depth, and balance to evolve gracefully over the coming decade and, I suspect, have a gradual decline thereafter. Drink, 2025-2034.
