Description
Bottled at cask strength, Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel arrives unfiltered and uncut at 61.9% ABV in a 700 ml bottle. The aroma opens with rich caramel and vanilla, backed by dark chocolate, butter and earthy walnut and hazelnut. On the palate, warm vanilla and oak carry through to toasted nuts, a generous spice and traces of butterscotch and honey.
The strength is powerful but never unapproachable, and the sweetness lingers well past the long, deep finish. It is a bourbon aimed at drinkers who already know their way around barrel-proof whiskey, and it is best taken neat or opened up with a splash of water.
