Bottled at cask strength, the 2022 Master Blenders Reserve from Black Tot draws together Caribbean rums chosen and married for the way their characters work in combination. At 54.5% ABV, the blend carries real weight on the palate, with rich molasses, dried fruit, warm oak and a quiet thread of spice running underneath.
The 750 ml bottle holds a dark rum built around depth rather than restraint, with the blending work showing in how the layers hold together. It stands up on its own poured neat, and has enough presence to carry through premium cocktails.
