Description
Ballyhoo Irish Whiskey is built on an unusual mash bill: 93% French corn paired with 7% malted barley. The sourced whiskey is brought to the distillery for a second maturation in Portuguese port barrels, a step that rounds off the grain character and leaves the whiskey soft and easy to approach, whether poured neat or mixed into cocktails.
The port casks lend a faint reddish cast to a naturally pale spirit, with no caramel or artificial coloring involved. At 43% ABV, the 750 ml bottle carries a warm, layered profile of oak, spice and dried fruit that carries through a smooth, lingering finish. Every bottle is filled by hand at the distillery.
